2015 Convention Highlights

I just returned from Close to my Heart’s Annual Convention at Disneyland, CA and am so excited about all that was announced and all of the new goodies coming our way! I had a great time and cannot wait to share everything with you. The new catalog will be released on September 1st, so I will be sharing LOTS of artwork using new products in September. (If you would like to sign up to be a CTMH Consultant, you will be able to see and order the new products a month early. Wink, wink)

Even though the new catalog doesn’t go live until September 1st, there will be a few FANTASTIC products released early on August 1st. Be sure to check back then! I know you will be pleasantly surprised! *Ü*

The excitement was building as we were waiting for the first General Session to start on Thursday.

My fabulous upline Denise Anderson-Turley and I waited patiently for all of the excitement to begin.

We enjoyed lots of create and take sessions where we used new products to create some FUN projects. This is a few of the wonderful gals from my team who were able to join us this year.

The Directors all received a big heart with our name on one side and our team name on the other. Michelle Snyder and I had fun with our hearts. LOL.

The Director’s Dinner was wonderful. We were treated to a delicious dinner outside in the beautiful Rose Court Garden. Monica and I had fun trying to take a “double selfie,” which was a first for both of us. LOL.

The awards banquet was incredible. The food was delicious, the company was fabulous, the entertainment was great, and it was so fun to be able to celebrate our fellow Consultants’ accomplishments.

I was honored to receive an award for 2nd place for Team Building in the U.S. It was a wonderful surprise!

I celebrated with my sweet friend Kristina Livingstone who placed in the top 10 for personal sales in the U.S. (Love this gal and am so proud of her accomplishments!)

The Convention theme this year was the movie Up! (One of my favorites!) There were lots of cute skits and photos ops with this theme.

Create and take time with the Three Amigos.

Having fun at Downtown Disney with these cute gals.

I was honored to be asked to teach an Extravaganza class on Saturday. Extravaganza is a fun and crazy part of Convention where everyone gets to attend six 15 minute creative classes back to back where they can learn about new products, fun techniques, and see TONS of artwork. (This is what I have been doing for the past two months. I have been creating with top secret new products that I wasn’t allowed to share with you.) I now have lots to share in September when the new catalog goes live!

I actually taught 12 classes that day and was happy to have a little bit of my voice left at the end of the day.

These are all of the incredibly creative Extravaganza teachers this year along with our fearless leader, Jill Broadbent. I was honored and humbled to be part of this amazing team!

The talented, creative, and super sweet Pamela O’Conner was my teaching partner this year.

What is Convention without super fun roommates? I was blessed to be able to share a room with Sherri Rottler, Launi Layton, and Sonja Long this year. We had so much fun that we laughed until we cried!

By the end of Convention, this is what I looked like. I had A LOT of fun, but it was definitely exhausting.

Another perk for attending Convention is that we were able to get a special Convention rate on the room at the Disneyland Hotel and specially priced park tickets. Since we only live an hour away, my hubby and kids joined me on Sunday and we enjoyed a fun night at the hotel and a GREAT day at the park on Monday. (My hubby photobombed the picture I tried to get of my kiddos before heading into California Adventure.)

We enjoyed special VIP seats at the World of Color water show on Monday night. I’m not sure if you can see it in the photo, but there is a wonderful quote from Walt Disney shining on the water. It says, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to purse them.” So very true!

I cannot wait until next year’s Convention!
